For fixed-scope projects, it is 50% upfront to begin and 50% on delivery before the store goes live. For larger headless builds, I split it into milestone payments tied to delivered stages, so you are paying against work you can actually see. Ongoing maintenance is billed monthly. Everything is agreed in writing in the proposal first.
